Sub: Revision / Modification in IAY guidelines for persons with disabilities
Sir,
Consequent to the coming into effect of the persons with disabilities
(Equal Opportunities Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act,
it has been decided by the Govt. of India to earmark 3% of the funds for
the benefit of persons with disabilities under Indira Awas Yojana. This
reservation of 3% under IAY for disabled persons below the poverty in
would be horizontal reservation i.e. disabled persons belonging to sections
like SCs, STs and others would fall in their respective categories.
