Rajasri Choudhury
Know Your Country, Rupa Choudhury Memorial Publication House, 2005Guwahati: A facet of Mankind
Sympathy towards fellow human beings is an inherent quality of mankind. Seeing someone in distress, we feel sad. Being a small child is not an exception.Rajasri Choudhury, a class V student of Maria Public School in the city was deeply moved when she saw the pathetic condition of the students of the blind school in the city. She wanted to do something about it.
At last, at the inspiration of her parents, she wrote a book titled Know Your Country. In this connection, she traveled places like Delhi, Agra, among others with her father, Rajkamal Choudhury. The book was formally released at the blind school recently. Chandan Baishya, a student of the school, released the book. Appreciating the initiative of Rajasri, the head master of the blind school wished her a bright future. It was announced during the programme that all the income earned from selling of the book would go towards the welfare activities of the students of the blind school.
In the programme, Rajasri also donated brail papers for the use of the students of the school.Source: Rajasri's benevolence towards blind students. The Sentinel, Guwahati, 1 July 2005.
