New Delhi: Journalist calls for Reservation for the Physically Challenged
Noted journalist Kuldip Nayar called upon policy makers to extend three percent reservation to the physically challenged in the Union and State legislatures as well as higher echelons of the administrative machinery.
He was speaking at the inauguration of 'disabilities studies lecture series' organized jointly by the Society for Disability and Rehabilitation Studies, New Delhi, and the Centre for Promotion of Human Rights Teaching and Research, JNU.
The keynote presentation on "Disability and Employment Policy in India" was made by Fordham University Assistant Professor Sophie Mitra, who stressed the need for a national campaign to gather comprehensive data on disability.
