Eligibility required for Special Olympics for below 8 years and above

For people below 8 years

People below 8 years are identified by schools or other human services agency as having mental retardation. If they have mental retardation, then Functional limitations also are considered. Functional limitations are measured physical disabilities, emotional disturbances, behaviour disorders, specific learning disabilities, visual impairment, or sensory impairments.

If these people are having functional disabilities, then they are NOT eligible for Special Olympics. People not having functional disabilities, are eligible for Special Olympics.
